Devil Design ABS+ Review
I had great success with eSun ABS+ filament, however, it was hard to get in my region and I was looking for a more locally available alternative. Devil Design is a Polish filament available in various parts of Europe. I picked up their black ABS+ filament on a sale for almost half the price of eSun filament. How does it compare?
I’m posting this short review because I had a hard time finding any comprehensive comments or reviews on this filament, hope it helps people who will look for it in the future.
The adhesion of this filament is a little tricky. It will stick fine in a fully enclosed printer but if conditions are not ideal you will get issues. On a partially enclosed printer I had to use glue stick to get good adhesion. Warping was also an issue on bigger prints. This filament feels like a very small improvement over ABS in terms of adhesion. Once you lay down a good first layer it flows very well. There are no flow consistency or oozing issues. The colors are bright and the finish is glossy (shiny, not matte). Devil Design Bright Green is the color used for Rat Rig printers for example.
I’ve found Devil Design ABS+ to be a good value filament. I particularly liked their “starter” pack box: 6x 0.33kg small spools of differents colors. It’s a great way to get multiple colors without having to buy full spools of each.
